EOSE was represented by Wojciech Waśniewski at the 29th TAFISA World Congress, held in Prague, Czech Republic, from 13 to 17 May 2026.
Hosted by the Czech Sokol Organisation and co-organised with TAFISA, the Congress focused on the theme Sport for All: Building Bridges for Inclusion, Equity and Harmony. The event brought together more than 300 participants from over 70 countries, confirming its role as a major global gathering for the Sport for All movement.
The Congress programme provided a platform for exchange between organisations, practitioners, researchers and leaders working to advance Sport for All, physical activity, inclusion and community development. Sessions addressed themes including intergenerational participation, youth leadership, social change, climate justice, migration, public-private-nonprofit partnerships, and community empowerment through sport.
EOSE’s involvement was closely connected to the REACH project, which focuses on enhancing youth engagement in Sport for All. As part of the Congress programme, EOSE supported the REACH Youth Task Force-led session Pass the Baton! Building a Platform for the Next Generation of Leaders. The session formed part of the Thursday programme and placed youth leadership and participation at the centre of the discussion.
EOSE congratulates TAFISA and the Czech Sokol Organisation on hosting this important international event. We also extend our thanks and congratulations to outgoing TAFISA President Wolfgang Baumann for his contribution to the global Sport for All movement.
During the TAFISA General Assembly in Prague, Janez Sodržnik, President of Sports Union of Slovenia, was elected as the new TAFISA President for the 2026-2029 term. As Sports Union of Slovenia is an EOSE member, we are pleased to welcome this appointment and wish Janez and the newly elected TAFISA Board of Directors every success in the years ahead.
