EOSE has joined 116 European organisations in signing a Joint Statement calling for stronger recognition of sport and physical activity within Erasmus+ and a dedicated budget in the next Multiannual Financial Framework (2028–2034). The statement underlines the role of sport as a driver of health, employment, inclusion and community wellbeing, and calls on EU institutions and Member States to treat sport as a strategic investment.
The Joint Statement highlights key priorities, including safeguarding sport within Erasmus+, allocating at least 5% of the programme budget to sport and physical activity, improving access for grassroots organisations, simplifying procedures, and strengthening links with related EU policies and programmes such as health, education, inclusion, innovation and cohesion.
By joining this collective call, EOSE reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the position of sport within European funding and policy frameworks.
