Earlier this year, we published the 2024 Sport Employment Statistics in Europe: Research Report and the 2024 EU Fact Sheet which highlight the size and characteristics of the sport workforce across the whole of Europe, collated from official statistics.

We are pleased to announce National Fact Sheets are also now available to download for each of the 27 EU Member States + Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, Türkiye and the United Kingdom.

The National Fact Sheets provide the statistical analysis of sport employment at the national level up to 2024, the latest year for which data is available.

Covering trends in the overall size of the sport workforce in each country, as well as the breakdown for characteristics such as gender, age, type of contract, and place of work, these fact sheets will be of interest to policy makers and stakeholders across the sport sector at the national level.

The fact sheets are divided into four sections:

  1. Total sport employment, which includes:
  2. Workers with a sport and fitness occupation in sport and non-sport organisations, and
  3. People working in organisations whose main business is sport in all occupations.
  4. Methodology

The design of the fact sheet makes it easy to compare sport employment characteristics with the overall national employment (in all economic sectors combined).

For a comparative analysis between countries, the full Research Report should be consulted.
