The Faculty of Physical Education and Sports (FPES) in Prishtina started to operate in the academic year 1979/1980 as an institution aiming to prepare physical education teachers in various fields of physical education and sports.

VISION

The Faculty of Physical Education and Sports is a higher education institution renowned for its professionalism, integrity, quality teaching, and scientific research. It creates and upholds quality standards, encourages staff and student mobility and the advancement of academic careers, It expands the field of partners and joins the European higher education network in line with market and economic demands.

MISION

The Faculty of Physical Education and Sports is a public institution of higher education in Kosovo and an academic unit of the University of Prishtina that focuses on teaching and applied scientific research in the field of physical education and sports.

The Faculty of Physical Education and Sports is dedicated to offering high-quality education and career preparation. Through teaching and research, it cultivates and develops physical education and sports sciences. It provides graduates with the skills needed to succeed in their scientific and professional pursuits. Moreover, it promotes the development of sports in Kosovo and fosters a competitive spirit. This faculty makes individuals aware of the value of physical education as a key component in enhancing life quality, health, and wellbeing.

The mission of FPES is well-defined. It aspires to become an academic institution in line with eminent worldwide universities, namely European ones, and a serious competitor in the academic market by growing and enhancing academic staff capability.

FPES currently provides three (3) programmes:

  • Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports (4-Year’s study) (240 ECTS).
  • Master in Sport Coaching (1-year study) (60 ETCS), and
  • Master of Physical Education and Sports (2-year studies) (120 ECTS)
