The University of Sports of Tirana is the only higher institution of this type in the Republic of Albania for the purpose of training physical education teachers and sports specialists. The University realises the full scientific qualification of physical education and sports specialists, up to the level of “Master” and “Doctor of Science”.
The genesis of the Sports University of Tirana began with the establishment of the Technical College of Physical Education in 1948. From 1958 until today, the Sports University of Tirana as a unique institution in the country has systematically graduated Teachers, Trainers and Senior Specialists in the Field of Physical Education and Sports.
The University of Sports of Tirana (UST) has as its mission:
- University education of students and specialists in all study cycles.
- Qualification of academic and scientific employees in the fields of physical education, health and recreation.
- Encouraging research and studies in the fields of physical education and sports, physical activity, health and recreation.
- Provision of services to third parties and consultancy in the field of physical education and sports, physical activity, health and recreation.
