Play International (PI) was founded in 1999 in France. PI is a non-profit organization that uses sports as a tool to promote social change, focusing on educational and inclusion projects for children and young people in vulnerable situations, utilizing sports and games as a means of learning and development, promoting community building and tackling issues like gender equality and disability awareness. PI provides Sport for Development initiatives in France and across the developing world. Since its foundation, PI has engaged over 500 000 individuals across 12 countries. It has also established a network of teachers and development specialists around the world and developed some training programmes and e-learning courses.
