13/12/2010 - EOSE GENERAL ASSEMBLY 2010: STEPHEN STUDD RE-ELECTED AS PRESIDENT
The official annual EOSE General Assembly was organised in Brussels on Thursday 9th of December 2010 and gathered 50 participants from 15 countries.
Mr Stephen Studd from the United Kingdom was unanimously re-elected for a period of 2 years as President of the European Observatoire of Sport and Employment. 
Mr Thierry Zintz from Belgium was elected as Secretary General last year for a period of 2 years and Mr Jean-Louis Gouju from France as Treasurer so still have 1 more year to go in those positions.  
12/12/2010 - EU PUBLIC CONSULTATIONS LAUNCHED BY THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION

Recently the European Commission has launched three public consultations to gather ideas and opinions:

1) Consultation on the promotion and validation of non-formal and informal learning

2) Public consultation on the future VAT system

3) Public consultation on funding for the EU's external action

12/12/2010 - FOCUS ON A PROJECT: DUAL CAREER FOR YOUNG ATHLETES IN EUROPE
The Dual Career for Young Athletes in Europe Project is led by the Bosön Sports College, Sweden, and funded through the Preparatory Action for Sport 2009 by the European Commission. It aims at establishing good practice in sport training and education, so as to increase the possibilities for athletes to pursue double career opportunities.
10/12/2010 - EU WORKING GROUP ON EDUCATION AND TRAINING IN SPORT - Ghent (BE), 7th & 8th of December 2010
From 7th till 8th December 2010, the EU Working Group on Education and Training in Sport met in Ghent, Belgium. The Members of the group had lively discussions on 1) the Results of the questionnaire on EU Physical Activity Guidelines in the field of education and school environment, 2) the Directive 2005/36 regarding regulated professions in sport, and 3) the EQF.
