28/03/2011 - EU CONFERENCE ON SPORT STATISTICS - Brussels, 23 March 2011
In the EU White Paper on Sport (2007), the Commission noted the lack of comparable EU-wide information on the sport sector's economic role and has then encouraged work on Sport Satellite Accounts in the EU Working Group on Sport & Economics. In the EC Communication on Sport (January 2011) the importance of evidence-based policy-making to develop the European dimension in sport has been again highlighted. In this regards, a conference on Sport Statistics was organised by the European Commission in Brussels on 23 March 2011.
21/03/2011 - DUAL CAREERS FOR YOUNG ATHLETES IN EU: FINAL CONFERENCE - Györ, 10/11 March 2011
The Dual Career for Young Athletes in Europe Project (DC-SPORT) led by the Bosön Sports College, Sweden, and funded through the Preparatory Action for Sport 2009 by the European Commission organised its Final Conference in Gyor (Hungary) from 10 to 13 of March 2011. This event gathered a mix of stakeholders from 14 different European Countries and was composed of a combination of plenary sessions and working group discussions.
23/02/2011 - All for Sport for All at the EU Sports Forum
On 21 & 22 February 2011, an EOSE and EPC delegation presented the All for Sport for ALL project outcomes during the EU Sport Forum in Budapest, Hungary. The delegation was composed of Stephen Studd (EOSE President), Aurelien Favre (EOSE Executive Director), Petry Huber (EPC Executive Board Member) and Saskia Kanfer (EPC Office Manager). Besides information provided at an exhibition stand that has been frequently visited by the Forum's delagates, a presentation about the latest developments through the ASA project has been given by Matthias Guett (EOSE Research Manager). 02/02/2011 - All for Sport for All goes online
The All for Sport for All Project Website is now online and shall set a base for all possible further cooperation and communication in the sport for people with a disability sector at the EU level. Besides information on the running EU funded Preparatory Action on Sport Project, the website includes a Section for a possible Working Group Group and a special LogIn Area for all collaborators. The news section is connected to the project's Facebook Site. You can access the public website at www.allforsport.eu.
