01/12/2009 - PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON FUTURE EU 2020 STRATEGY
The European Commission has published a consultation paper on the future EU 2020 strategy, the follow-up to the Lisbon process, which you can access through the following link.
 
The Commission intends to present a formal proposal for the EU 2020 strategy early next year, with a view to the EU's Heads of State and governments adopting the strategy at their 2010 spring meeting. In the meantime, the Commission would like to hear your views on some suggested broad policy considerations for the future EU2020 strategy, which are contained in the consultation document below. 30/11/2009 - RESTRUCTURING FORUM: NEW SKILLS FOR NEW JOBS
The first objective of the Restructuring Forum, organised by the European Commission in cooperation with the European Parliament, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and the Committee of the Regions will be to set the scene for discussion and debate between the stakeholders on the role of skills needs anticipation in employment, education and training policy making and practices, and on how and by whom this should be done. The main results of 18 sectoral studies will be presented, highlighting the common challenges, the differences and the relative position of the different sectors under review in relation with competences and skills requirements. Workshops will offer the opportunity for participants to listen to the presentations of good practices for specific sectors and to discuss further some of the recommendations laid down in the studies.
28/11/2009 - EU SUPPORTS 18 TRANSNATIONAL PROJECTS IN THE FIELD OF SPORT
The 2009 call for proposals of the Preparatory Action in the field of sport was published on 15 May 2009. The deadline for applications was 31 August 2009. In total, 207 applications were received. Applications were evaluated according to the eligibility, selection and award criteria detailed in the text of the call for proposals. Following this evaluation, the Commission decided to finance 18 projects with a total amount of € 4 million.
23/11/2009 - EOSE GENERAL ASSEMBLY & WORKING CONFERENCE 2009 - PRESENTATIONS
On the 19th and 20th of November 2009, the Annual EOSE General Assembly & Working Conference was held in Brussels (Belgium). The event gathered 54 representatives from 18 countries, 7 European Sport Associations and representatives from the European Commission Sport Unit and the DG EAC, and therefore provided an opportunity to discuss ongoing activities within the Sport and Active Leisure Sector, to focus on its future opportunities and challenges, as well as to build partnerships and to establish further Observatories and action within the EOSE structure.
