18/01/2011 - EU Communication on Sport adopted
On 18 January 2011, the European Commission adopted a Communication entitled "Developing the European Dimension in Sport". This is the first policy document issued by the Commission in the field of sport after the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty, which gives the EU a mandate to support, coordinate and supplement sport policy measures taken by Member States.

11/01/2011 - BECOMING THE HUB - Preliminary Recommendations
The EHFA London Summit took place in London on the 22nd and 23rd of November 2010. This event included an International Fitness Standards Meeting, the 3rd EHFA National Associations Forum but also the final conference of the EU funded ‘Becoming the Hub’ project.

Over 70 delegates from the Fitness sector across Europe and around the world attended the event which was addressed by Jacob Kornbeck from the Sport Unit of the European Commission, and Prof. Dr Harold Kohl III, President of the International Society of Physical Activity and Health. The Executive Summary Recommendations of the HUB project and key finding were presented, discussed and accepted by the delegates.
13/12/2010 - EOSE WORKING CONFERENCE 2010 (9/10 Dec. 2010 - Brussels, BE)
On the 09th and 10th of December 2010, the Annual EOSE General Assembly and Working Conference 2010 was held in Brussels (Belgium). The event gathered a mix of 50 representatives from 14 countries and provided an opportunity to present and discuss ongoing activities within the Sport and Active Leisure Sector, to focus on its realities, future opportunities and challenges around the Education and Training 2020 framework, the New Skills for New Jobs initiative, as well as to build partnerships and relationship across Europe.
13/12/2010 - EOSE GENERAL ASSEMBLY 2010: STEPHEN STUDD RE-ELECTED AS PRESIDENT
The official annual EOSE General Assembly was organised in Brussels on Thursday 9th of December 2010 and gathered 50 participants from 15 countries.
Mr Stephen Studd from the United Kingdom was unanimously re-elected for a period of 2 years as President of the European Observatoire of Sport and Employment. 
Mr Thierry Zintz from Belgium was elected as Secretary General last year for a period of 2 years and Mr Jean-Louis Gouju from France as Treasurer so still have 1 more year to go in those positions.
