30/09/2010 - A NEW LEONARDO PROJECT SELECTED IN THE SPORT & ACTIVE LEISURE SECTOR - European Occupational Standards for Golf Project (GOLF STAND)
We are really pleased to inform you that a new Leonardo da Vinci project led by SkillsActive, PGAs of Europe and EOSE has been accepted to develop Occupational Standards for the Golf Industry and will be funded by ECOTEC for the next 2 years (from 01 October 2010 until 30 September 2012).
22/09/2010 - EU WORKING GROUPS IN THE FIELD OF SPORTS - Summary reports from last meetings
Six EU working groups have been set since 2005 to co-operate more closely, at the technical level, on specific topics of the Rolling Sports Agenda.

  1. EU Working Group "Sport & Health"
  2. EU Working Group "Sport & Economics"
  3. EU Working Group "Non-Profit Sport Organisations"
  4. EU Working Group "Anti-Doping"
  5. EU Working Group "Education and Training in Sport"
  6. EU Working Group “Social Inclusion and Equal Opportunities in Sport”

Each working group includes representatives of at least eight Member States and is chaired by the Commission.
21/09/2010 - OPEN CALL FOR TENDER EAC/28/2010 - Study on the contribution of sport to economic growth and employment
Action 35 in the Pierre de Coubertin Action Plan annexed to the White Paper on Sport  foresees that the Commission should launch a study to assess the sport sector's contribution to the Europe 2020 strategy. On this basis, the Commission has launched an invitation to tender for a study on the contribution of sport to economic growth and employment in the EU.
 
20/09/2010 - EUROPEAN ACCREDITATION FITNESS PROJECT (EA-FITNESS) - Final Conference, Sept. 2010
The European Accreditation - Fitness project led by Central YMCA Qualifications (CYQ) and funded by the European Commission provides a catalyst to the transfer of innovative accreditation and verification solutions for vocational education and training in the field of exercise and fitness qualifications across Europe.
