In addition, a number of disciplines and countries were selected to be analysed in more detail in the next phase of the study on the financing of grassroots sports. Indeed, in line with
White Paper on Sport accompanied by the
Pierre de Coubertin Action Plan the European Commission launched a study on the funding of grassroots sport in the 27 Member States. The study aims at analysing barriers to sport funding and identifying means of strengthening the development of grassroots sport across the European Union. The results of the study are expected by the end of 2010.
